Kettle

Mrs. Holidays, Baby Holidays, and I were visiting Mrs. Holidays' Stepmother, and her kettle happened to grab my attention. She noted that this electric kettle could boil a good amount of water in a matter of minutes.  That got me to thinking. Instead of boiling huge pots of water on Halloween to stimulate dry ice action, which takes a lot of time and energy, I could just use two electric kettles to get the job done in a much more efficient manner.

As a result, I plan on buying an electric kettle later this year, and Mrs. Holidays' Stepmother said that I could borrow her's as well. That way, I can quickly replenish the hot water supply for our dry ice-holding containers.

The Biltmore Estate

A beautiful Spring grove here. Come October, this would serve as a nice canvas for a creative haunter.

Haunters already hard at work

The famous Pumpkinrot writes that he will not be blogging for the rest of May since he'll be devoting almost all of his free time to working on a big project. Check it out here.

The House of Marrow has released his first teaser prop of the year. Pretty creepy. Check it out here.

3 months till Halloween decorations hit the stores

In my experience over the last three years, Michaels usually puts its collection out first, followed by Home Goods. I'm going to check out the local Goodwill store as well.

This year, I'm going to keep my eye out for black spray paint, more battery-operated tea lights, a knick knack or two that I could hang from the artificial trees, orange string lights (Mother in Law Holidays, do we have any orange lights, I can't remember?), and maybe even a little wreath.

And, of course, I'll have to take Grandmother Holidays out to look around for a spooky door sign.

Grandmother Holidays turns 90

That's a lot of holidays along the way. Last year was her first yard haunt, and this year was her first outdoor Easter display. Lord willing, she'll be present to celebrate 'Spirit Grove II: an enchanted forest', as well as her first outdoor Christmas display, with Baby Holidays. Just think. She's 90 years older than her Great-Grandson Baby Holidays. Pretty cool.

I didn't get a chance to take any, but here are some from the web.  Click here.

Supermoon tomorrow

Will try and get a pic or two as it rises tomorrow. This year's Halloween won't feature a supermoon, but it should be pretty full, which weather permitting, should make for a spooky night.

Faerie Glen

How cool would it be to have a haunt here? I can just see the dry ice cascading down the hill with lanterns and pumpkins all aglow.

The House of Marrow

Just in case you thought I was the only one who noted the half-way point to Halloween. This talented 'haunter' is from New Zealand, and he builds one display at Halloween and a second display half-way through the year.

Here's his April 30th post, which gives a brief history & description of his 'Point of No Return' displays:

A Backyard Haunted Trail

And here's today picture-filled post:
