Next Saturday is Easter Eve. As the Easter Bunny makes his rounds around the world, I'm hoping a little light will entice him to stop by Easter Bunny Cove. I may even set up shop and see if I can get a picture of him as he travels through. May be tough, though. Legend has it he's a pretty fast mover.

Really hoping PWIW Holidays will be there to see the show. He's 3 days late so far.

The Big Bang
In the Beginning...
View from the front
View from the back
View from the right side
View from the left side
All in all, I hung 93 plastic eggs on the arbor this afternoon. Long-suffering Mother-in-Law Holidays was an eyewitness. Mrs. Holidays stayed at home to catch some precious Z's after a long night of false labor contractions.
Tomorrow, I will be putting out some solar-powered ground lights that Mother-in-Law Holidays purchased at Walmart. Grandmother Holidays should be present and ready to supervise. Then, I still have about 90 more eggs to hang around surrounding branches and bushes. When I do that will depend on PWIW Holidays' imminent arrival.
As I was hanging the eggs today and while Mother-in-Law Holidays was hard at work trimming bushes to prepare Easter Bunny Cove, several people drove by, slowed down and smiled. One young mother walking her baby in a stroller suggested that we needed some lights to add to the display. Mother-in-Law Holidays told her "Just come back," then proceeded to go inside and put a cold, wet towel on her forehead (Don't kid yourself, she loves every second of it).

Operation Save Easter
Yesterday, I stopped by Home Goods for a quick visit and noticed that the store had already taken away about 90% of its Easter stash and replaced it with generic Spring products. How disappointing, especially considering that we still have about two-and-a-half weeks until the big holiday. Also, in my evening walks, I haven't seen a single outdoor Easter decoration in my neighborhood yet.
Easter (in the fun, holiday sense) is on life support. Fellow Easter bloggers and enthusiasts, it's up to us to save it.

Easter Luminary Jars
Under the watchful eye of Grandmother Holidays, I spray painted 12 glass jars which will be hung as luminaries on Easter Eve and Easter Day. Blue, of course, is a classic Easter color, and I think it is only fitting that we stick with an all-blue theme since Mrs. Holidays and I are expecting a baby boy in about 11 days.

Easter Decorating Schedule
Mother-in-Law Holidays has now given me permission to start decorating on the first day of spring, March 20. Isn't she grand?
Depending upon PWIW Holidays' delivery date, here's a tentative schedule for the fast-approaching holiday:
March 20- 1st decoration
March 24/25- The Big Bang (of Easter eggs)
April 7- Easter vigil light display
April 8- Easter celebration; Light Display II after dinner

Work Weekend Update
Yesterday, Mrs. Holidays and Mother-in-Law Holidays kindly helped me string together over 90 eggs. I plan on doing some more work later today. We took a couple of pics yesterday, and we will probably take one or two more today, then I'll post them all together.
In related news, Mother-in-Law Holidays hinted that she might allow me to start decorating outside a few days before the 25th, which would be very exciting. Also, I have decided to forgo decorating the cherry tree in the front yard, and will instead turn my focus to an adjacent wooden arbor & surrounding foliage. After much thought and consultation with Mother-in-Law Holidays, I just don't think the cherry tree is a practical option.
So, for this year, it will be an Easter Egg Arbor instead of an Easter Egg Tree. Stay tuned.
